PIONEERS in Bodybuilding

The early pioneers in bodybuilding are many but those who have contributed a lot of time, effort and money towards teh development of bodybuilding in Malaysia should be given special mention here and they are late Mr. Victor Kok Kee, the late Mr. H.R.M. Storey and our Chairman of MBBF, YB Datuk Wira Gan Boon Leong.

Datuk Wira Gan, who is also the President of the Malacca Amateur Weightlifting and Bodybuilding Association has organized manay international bodybuilding competitions in Malacca, namely the SEA, Asian, Commonwealth and the World championships. For his tremendous contribution towards bodybuilding he has been nominated and awarded the Honorary 'Mr. Universe' 2000, the 'Organiser of the Year 2000', and the IFBB highest award, the IFBB Gold Order 2000. He was also awarded the National Sports Leadership award 2000 by the National Sports Council of Malaysia. In the following year this same award went to our Patron, the late Mr. H.R.M. Storey.
